What Is a Data Leak?
A data leak is a security incident where your sensitive information is exposed online to unauthorized people or parties without your permission due to a breach on a website or service you used.
With the Futureproof Data Leak functionality, you can see if your email address, account passwords, financial details, or other personal data were exposed online.
Why Is Data Leak Dangerous?
Once your data appears online, you cannot remove it from the internet yourself.
Scammers may use leaked information to steal your identity, open loans or credit cards in your name, reset your accounts, or target you with scams.
Even older leaks still create risk today — because scammers often try your old passwords on your other accounts.
